Will possess the ability to install low voltage electronic systems (which may include video surveillance, intrusion detection, access control, intercom, fire detection, data/com., audio/visual or other systems), the ability to program such systems, and the ability to perform testing on such systems after installation to assure customer acceptance. Must also possess troubleshooting and problem solving skills to aid in the execution of work on the jobsite and to minimize the need to make return trips.
HS diploma a must. Prefer some technical education. Those candidates with advanced degrees will be rated more highly. Must be manufacturer-certified in one or more major electronic security subsystem. Preference will be granted to those candidates with manufacturer training in all three major subsystems on major brands (CCTV, intrusion detection, access control).
Electronics Technician must have at least 3 years of direct position-related experience in the installation, programming and testing of electronic systems in a commercial/industrial environment. Candidates with experience installing systems on government sites will be rated more highly. Residential installation experience is less relevant.
Compensation - Technicians will be paid depending on experience, education and certifications.
